Silver Chrysocolla Necklace

A tropical lizard motif sets the tone for this totally unique one-of-a-kind silver necklace. I found this amazing example of the gemstone Chrysocolla at a gem show in Tucson. You see, not only does this piece have a wonderful, 100% natural mix of shades of blue, it also has tiny quartz crystals growing on one side! These little crystals, usually found growing on a host rock, are known as Druzy crystals. In ancient times, Chrysocolla was thought to have a peaceful, calming effect on the wearer. The pendant measures one and a half inches long and about one half inch wide. Comes ready to wear with a sturdy 16 inch sterling silver cable chain. As with all my silver pieces this one was made with upcycled silver.
